What you get when you buy our horses:
Our philosophy is that we treat the horses with respect and interact with them the way they interact with one another. The horses are handled with a purpose: it’s not just about today, it’s about the rest of their lives.
We develop a horse’s try from their very first breath. Try is a horse’s morality. Our horses will try to fill in an answer that is safe for a person that is unclear about what they are asking for.
When you purchase one of our horses, you get the following:
Handled since birth
Halter-broke within 4 days of birth
By 6 months old, they are handled in multitude of ways for basic healthcare and training purposes
Live in a herd setting because we believe they learn the most important lessons from this setting of peers. They are taught to be caught from a pasture everyday, rather than a pen.
Started under saddle at 2 years old.
Balanced horse: responding to cues rather than reacting (balance between sensitization and desensitization).
Our horses are exposed to different levels of people: from the very beginner to a professional with years of experience. They learn to never take advantage of a person, regardless of the person’s horsemanship knowledge.
We balance the 4 elements of horsemanship: ground work, long rides, concentrated training, and wet saddle blankets. Examples of a long ride could be moving cows or trail riding. Any show horse is an excellent example of concentrated training. And racehorses epitomize a wet saddle blanket. Any one of these elements by itself does not create a balanced horse. In our training program, we try our best to balance all three elements equally in every horse.
We are interested in finding the right lifelong home for our horses. The right home is compassionate, caring, and is interested in a long future with the horse. The right home will keep the horse’s life balanced between the 3 elements of training: long rides, concentrated training, and wet saddle blankets. We are interested in our horses going to an environment that includes an eagerness to learn horsemanship in the context of partnership. If you are someone that enjoys the honesty, spirit, and humbling experience a horse can bring to your life, please contact us.
